It is with deep respect and admiration that I nominate Miss Lam for her exceptional contributions to our educational community. Her mentorship during Ms Kong Lai Han’s teaching practicum has been nothing short of transformative, showcasing her devotion to both curriculum excellence and holistic student development. Miss Lam's expertise in curriculum design is inspiring. I in particular appreciate her meticulous attention to aligning curriculum objectives with school policies, such as notetaking and online learning. This made the student teacher realise that what is being taught should also be in line with what is being assessed not just in the classroom but also in the context of our school’s objectives. Her guidance in post-teaching debriefing and feedback, moreover, has been timely and invaluable, as Ms Kong said, providing insights constructive to her future lesson planning. Beyond the four walls of classroom, Miss Lam's dedication in non-teaching activities, such as the STEM fair and Fruit Day, inspired the student teacher to commit to fostering a vibrant educational culture. By participating in the said activities, the student teacher was able to integrate cross-curricular themes to her lessons, particularly through theme-based teaching like the F1 healthy breakfast, which exemplifies her innovative approach to education. This method not only enhances student engagement but also ensures that learning outcomes are tangible and visible, as evidenced by the students' amazing showcases. Miss Lam's role as a home economics teacher extends beyond imparting knowledge—it is also played in adeptly managing departmental affairs and nurturing a collaborative environment. In fact, her willingness to share her extensive teaching experience with the student teacher without an air of superiority is deeply appreciated by Ms Kong Lai Han. This openness has allowed for their shared adjustment and implementation of lesson plans that are both creative and effective. One of Miss Lam's most valuable qualities, I think, is her emphasis on real-world applications, such as teaching students to prepare low-carbon diets. Miss Lam took the initiative in looking into the student teacher’s background in studying sustainable dishes in order to provide Ms Kong Lai Han the opportunity to design a new recipe for her students. In other words, Ms Kong could make good use of her own studies and apply her expertise to the lesson design, ultimately advancing and meet their shared goals of sustainability and innovation, which I highly appreciate. It is my conviction that Miss Lam's dedication to quality education, her innovative spirit, and her mentorship make her an exemplary candidate for this nomination.
